In the weeks leading up to your session, a phone consultation is offered to tie up any loose ends, assist with outfit selection, and answer any questions.

When your session date comes you can relax and have fun!

A few weeks after your session you will get a reveal of your image proofs. Together we select your final images and choose how you would like to display them. I can even show mock-ups on your actual walls! This is my favorite part, it's so fun to see it all come together.

Would you describe your family as “outdoorsy”? The Adventure Session may be for you! Less posing, more play. Crafted to be more a casual, documentary style a-day-in-the-life of your family. Places or activities that are special to you make for great adventures. Together we can create memories from the everyday moments, and have fun playing in the PNW!

My Commitment to Service

What does it mean to be a Full-Service Photographer?

As a Full-Service Photographer, I don't just take your photos and then abandon you with beautiful images you can only look at on your phone, no! While there are many creative humans out there with gobs of spare time in their organized, perfectly balanced life who can take those digitals and DIY  them into beautiful albums and wall pieces- most of us just don't have the time, patience, tools, or confidence to tackle such a project. Often people become overwhelmed and never print anything at all- this makes me so sad. 

 Let the professional handle it! Your photo experience will be so much more enjoyable. Planning and getting the photos taken is usually a victory in itself- don't give yourself more work. All that is required of you is to have fun planning and shooting your session, and then choose the images and products you love. I assure you our final results, stunning  pictures on your walls or a beautiful album, whatever you love,  will bring  you joy every day.

Frequently Asked Questions

Planning a photo session can seem overwhelming, but I promise to make it easy and fun! Please reach me at heather@heatherhalephoto.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Hair, makeup, what to wear, how to pose- it's a lot to consider! Depending on your preferences and vision, I have recommendations that will allow you to look and feel your best for your session. 

Once your session is booked, we will cover all of this in your pre-session consultation.

I keep a close eye on the forecast in the days leading up to our session, and I always allocate a make-up day in case we have to reschedule. Depending on what type of PNW "rain" we get, sometimes we can work around the showers without getting soaked. Ultimately if the weather isn't cooperating we just reschedule to your make-up day. 

I've scouted out many great locations around the beautiful PNW that make for fantastic photo experiences. I'm always open to suggestions and love discovering new places!  I prefer to schedule my photo sessions for the 2 hours before sunset, or in the hours after sunrise. This offers us the best light to work with. 

We can always incorporate pets into the photos! They are family, too, after all.

I always encourage clients to imagine what they would like to do with their images- be that a stunning wall piece, a custom album, or prints to share. Do you have something custom and specific in mind? Just ask! I'm happy to help your vision come to life.

I am based in Arlington, WA in Snohomish County. I travel along the I5 corridor from south King County to the north Skagit County line, and east to the Cascade foothills. I charge a travel fee for destinations over 20 miles away. Please contact me for a custom travel quote.
